Chapter History (cont.)

As a result of this association with the ROK Embassy, Antietam chapter 312 began a period of close cooperation with the Embassy that continues today.   This closeness is best exemplified by an invitation to meet and have tea with President Lee Myung Bak at the Korean War Memorial on the Mall in Washington.  Those attending this social were Commander Wayne Winebrenner. Les Bishop, Bob Eader and Johnny Koontz.  That same group met several times with Koreans at the Embassy and at area Korean restaurants.

In 2011, Jim Ensminger was elected Commander and the chapter continued to expand its programs and its relationship with the ROK Embassy and the national KWVA.

This story will continue.  Please check back with us later.  In the meantime, please know that the ground-breaking for the monument occurred in June, 2012 and was dedicated in July, 2013.  See the Monument tab in this web-site for pictures and more details.  We also have established a scholarship program, have conducted several Tell America events at local high schools and the chapter has been invited to two state dinners for the current President Park.  Visit us later!
